The Japanese grocery on the north side of Evansville is now permanently closing its doors.

Iwataya recently announced the closure of its Japanese grocery after its attached Japanese restaurant closed earlier in January.

The grocery store will now permanently close after July 24, 2021.

Iwataya says it will hold a "going out of business sale" from July 17 to July 24.

The grocery can be found at 8401 N. Kentucky Ave. J in Evansville, Indiana.

Iwataya has been in business at that location for the last 21 years.

Autumn officially begins at 2:21 PM today! The fall-like air will be firmly in place thanks to the strong northwest wind flow. Winds will gust as high as 30 MPH. On and off rain chances will continue through the early-afternoon before clearing around 5PM. Highs will struggle to make it out of the low-60s.
