A Jasper, Indiana man remains behind bars following charges related to leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
After 6PM on July 29th, Jasper Police responded to the 1300 block of Newton St for a "vehicle versus person." accident.
Officers on scene determined that 32-year-old Joshua Rominger and a female were having a dispute, which led to the male leaving the residence. According to police in a news release, Rominger struck the female with the pickup truck as he was pulling away. He ended up running over her and driving away.
The victim was pronunced dead a short time later at Memorial Hospital.
Rominger was located in Paoli, Indiana and placed into custody. He is facing a charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Death While Intoxicated, which is a Level 3 Felony in Indiana.
Rominger remains in Dubois County Jail with no bond.
