For the first time in school history, both the girls and boys teams at Jasper will make a trip to state together.

2019 was a special season for the Jasper boys cross country team, as the Wildcats qualified for state for the first time since 1952. Fast forward one year, and the Wildcats are heading back to the big dance, where they will also be joined there by the girls team. This marks the first time in school history that both boys and girls teams will compete at state together, and both squads are using this as an opportunity to build their respective programs for the future.

"It's crazy because we have all put in hard work over the past two years," said Jasper Sophomore Harrison Hulsman. "I feel like the Senior class last year really helped with that by uniting us and putting us together. Now we are all just working hard and they kind of started a dynasty. I feel like it's going to carry on for awhile."

"We are setting a really good example for other teams later on, such as next years team or when I am gone and for other people coming up, that we can do this," said Jasper Senior Kelsea Skorge. "We always have a possibility of both teams advancing, and we can always do it if we try."

"I think it really shows how much work we have been putting in and how much that has been paying off," said Jasper Junior Andi VanMeter. "I think that will show a lot for the people coming up. The 8th graders next year, I think they will be really excited and really pumped to know that if they work really hard they can go to. The next few years, we will have really great teams."

"It really just says that we are improving," said Jasper Junior Abe Eckman. "We are putting in a lot more quality work and we are being consistent and turning into a better program overall."
