Justin Brewer was found not guilty of attempting to murder a UE student in 2014.

But was senteced to six years on other charges.

After being released -- Brewer was arrested for the murder of Delvin Mitchell.

Both cases are similar -- with the probable cause affadavits saying the arguments were centered over dealing marijuana -- which lead to scuffles with a gun.

Except the UE student survived the shooting -- while Mitchell -- the most recent victim -- was shot dead.

Brewer's wife -- Amber has also been charged -- with them both pleading guilty to federal gun charges last year.

And during the first day of the latest murder trial for Justin Brewer --the jury was picked while the state started presenting their case.

The defense is set to present their case Tuesday, May 18th, while Amber's trial is set for June 14th.

We headed out to cloudy skies and some damp conditions this morning across the Tri-State. We've been tracking scattered showers for the first part of the day. While it’s been mostly cloudy, there will be some sunshine as soon as we get the rain out of the area. Temperatures are still expected to reach unseasonably warm values this afternoon. With some sunshine and winds out of the southwest highs should have no problem reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s. Clouds will clear out, but the southerly wind flow will keep overnight lows in the low to mid 40s. Tomorrow morning won't be all that bad considering it will be December 2nd.
