Several school districts across the Bluegrass are seeing a range of challenges, as the work to keep kids and staff safe amid the pandemic.

On Wednesday, Owensboro High School basketball has put all activities on pause due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Daviess County schools are on track with their plans to vaccinate the staff.

During the first 2 weeks of February, the first dose of the vaccine will be administrated to district staff.

In Hopkins County, the health department has shared that right now they only have enough vaccines right now for boosters for essential front-line workers, including K-12 teachers, and they have not yet gotten any additional shipments.

Health department officials added their "biggest issue" has been in schools, with team sports causing many students to have to quarantine at home.

Our third day in a row with very mild temperatures. Highs across the Tri-State were in the low and middle 60's. A few showers at times crossed the area. A cold front will push through the Tri-State and will cause a few strong storms, that could have strong winds and even some torrential rain. Some flash flooding is a possibility. Strong winds overnight switching from the southwest to the northwest and may gust as high as 30 mph.
