Kentucky State Representative Attica Scott has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives announced that she had tested positive for the virus on Twitter Sunday.

"Hey all, wanted to let you know that last week, I got a COVID-19 test and today I got my result," Rep. Scott said on Sunday. "I tested positive for COVID-19 - so make sure you get tested."

Scott said she's adhering to health department guidelines and self-quarantining for the next 14 days until she gets tested for COVID-19 again.

In her Sunday announcement, Rep. Scott then went on to thank healthcare workers for performing tests daily, providing contact tracing, and "just taking care of us."

Scott finished by urging the public to take precautionary countermeasures against the spread of the virus, such as wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing.

Rep. Scott represents Kentucky's 41st state house district.
