Large Fire Damages Pole Barn in Princeton

Fire crews responded to the fire just after 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A Wednesday afternoon fire in Princeton, Indiana, left a pole barn severely damaged.

Princeton Area Firefighters Union Local 1634 says fire crews were dispatched at 1:44 p.m. to the 1500 block of 100 West on Wednesday evening for a pole barn fire.

When crews arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke consuming the pole barn.

Officials say firefighters made quick work of the blaze and snuffed it out in a matter of minutes.

Assisting agencies include Hazelton Fire, Patoka Fire, and Gibson County EMS.

We headed out to cloudy skies and some damp conditions this morning across the Tri-State. We've been tracking scattered showers for the first part of the day. While it’s been mostly cloudy, there will be some sunshine as soon as we get the rain out of the area. Temperatures are still expected to reach unseasonably warm values this afternoon. With some sunshine and winds out of the southwest highs should have no problem reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s. Clouds will clear out, but the southerly wind flow will keep overnight lows in the low to mid 40s. Tomorrow morning won't be all that bad considering it will be December 2nd.
