Wednesday morning, a semi that had large pipes on the back end lost one of those pipes while driving eastbound on North Green Street in Henderson.

The pipe ended up breaking a power pole between 4th and 5th Street. Henderson Municipal Power and Light have a crane holding up the broken pole and closed off the lanes around the pole.

HMPL will have the right lane closed to traffic on North Green Street between 4th & 5th Streets this afternoon and tomorrow while work is being completed to change out a power pole, weather permitting. The area is designated. The crew asked that drivers stay away from the area for the safety of themselves and the safety of the crew.

UPDATE: The roads have been mostly cleared as of 10:49 PM (4/7).

Following the passage of some scattered rainfall earlier this morning this afternoon turned out to be quite pleasant, albeit cooler overall. After peaking at 73° on Monday afternoon in Evansville, the River City reached just 68° earlier today - obviously a drop of just 5° isn't anything significant from day to day, but that difference signals the arrival of a cooling trend expected to last into the weekend ahead. As for the remainder of our Tuesday, expect our mainly cloudy skies to linger into the evening and overnight hours as temperatures gradually dwindle into the upper 40s for many of us.
