Local Illinois State Police Issue Hundreds of Tickets in March
Illinois State Police District 19 includes Wabash, Edwards, Wayne, White, Hamilton, Saline, and Gallatin Counties. The district reported more than 1,500 incidents it responded to in March.

Troopers wrote 614 citations last month. The district reported 331 of those citations were for speeding. The patrols also resulted in 10 criminal arrests.
Commander Captain Nathan Douglas says troopers also assisted 64 motorists, conducted 171 Motor Carrier Safety Inspections, and investigated 36 traffic crashes.
There were no fatal traffic crashes investigated by District 19 during March.
District 19 issued 426 citations and 577 written warnings for “Fatal Four” violations. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes. The four vioaltions include DUI, Speeding, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
