A Tri-State veteran is celebrating a milestone birthday.

World War II U.S. Army Veteran Thurman Carnal turned 105-years-old on Tuesday.

Carnal was a truck driver for the U.S. Army in the 24th EVAC Unit in Europe from 1942 to 1945.

Family and Friends surprised Carnal by joining him on his special day.

Among the guests, local Indiana State Representative Wendy McNamara, who has known Carnal for several years.

"Thurman has made the rounds," said Rep. Wendy McNamara. "He has been entertained by the Governor, The Lieutenant Governor, by the Secretary of State, Larry Bucshon was here last year, but of course I call Thurman my special guy. I was happy to be able to celebrate with Thurman and be a part of Thurman's life."

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another unseasonably warm day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Some areas could even see temperatures well into the 70s. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning. We won't see any rain from this front, but it will cool temperatures into the low 40s by Saturday morning.
