Details have been finalized for the no-appointment COVID-19 vaccine clinic that was previously announced by the Posey County Health Department.
The clinic will be held on Saturday, April 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Marrs Elementary School, which is located at 9210 Old Highway 62 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana.
No appointments are required for the clinic, but the health department asks everyone attending to bring an ID and proof of insurance, even though the vaccine is free.
Although all Hoosiers age 16-years-old and up are now eligible to receive the vaccine, PCHD says this vaccine clinic will only be open to individuals 18 or older. That's because the health department will be distributing the Moderna vaccine, which hasn't been approved for individuals under the age of 18.
Since the Moderna vaccine is a two-dose vaccine, anyone who attends the clinic will be scheduled to come back and receive their second dose on May 15.
The vaccine clinic is open to all individuals, regardless of whether or not they reside in Posey County.
