Indiana Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch was in the River City, Friday, to take part in a luncheon hosted by the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership.

It was a sold out event at the Tropicana Evansville Pavilion, with Mayor Lloyd Winnecke among the other honored guests.

During the event Lt. Gov. Crouch, who also serves as the Indiana Secretary of Agriculture, addressed the current state of farming in Southern Indiana. She also talked about the need for communities to work together and the strength of the economy in Southern Indiana.

The Evansville native was excited to be involved in an in-person event in her home city.

"I have always been so impressed with the progression of Southwest Indiana," said Lt. Gov. Crouch. "The collaboration and partnership that they exhibit here. . . It's inspiring for me to be here in such an important and special part of the state. I get as much energy from them as I hope that they get from me."

The Lt. Governor does spend her weekends in the Tri-State, traveling each week to Indianapolis to serve the state.

It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon throughout the Tri-State, but despite our seemingly endless supply of sunshine today, temperatures remained more than 10° cooler than the norm for this time of the year. Fortunately, today's peak temperature of 65° represents our coolest anticipated afternoon high temperature through the remainder of our extended forecast. While it is indeed encouraging that temperatures will gradually rise through the rest of the work week into the weekend ahead, we'll still have to deal with temperatures back down into the upper 30s and low 40s early Thursday morning.
