Madisonville Man Facing Child Pornography Charges

A Madisonville man is facing multiple felony charges after the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office says an investigation revealed him to be in possession of at least 5 images that contained erotic matter and/or sexual conduct by minors.

A Madisonville, Kentucky man is facing five counts of Possession/Viewing of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor after an investigation conducted by the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office.

HCSO said Monday that 54-year-old Bryan Keith Martin of Madisonville had been arrested in reference to an ongoing investigation, which started after the sheriff's office received a criminal complaint involving Martin.

According to HCSO, during the investigation, Martin was alleged to have possessed matter which portrayed a sexual performance by a minor.

HCSO says that after an electronic device was seized and a search warrant was conducted on it, it was determined that Martin was in possession of at least 5 images that contained erotic matter and/or sexual conduct by minors.

During the investigation, HCSO was assisted by the Madisonville Police Department and the Hopkins County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.

The sheriff's office says that Possession or viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor is a Class D felon, which can carry a punishment of 1-5 years.

Martin remains in the Hopkins County Jail on a $4,000 cash bond.

It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon throughout the Tri-State, but despite our seemingly endless supply of sunshine today, temperatures remained more than 10° cooler than the norm for this time of the year. Fortunately, today's peak temperature of 65° represents our coolest anticipated afternoon high temperature through the remainder of our extended forecast. While it is indeed encouraging that temperatures will gradually rise through the rest of the work week into the weekend ahead, we'll still have to deal with temperatures back down into the upper 30s and low 40s early Thursday morning.
