Man Arrested After Shooting in Owensboro

The Owensboro Police Department says a local man is facing several charges after a shooting on Thursday.

The Owensboro Police Department says 42-year-old Charles R. Jean of Owensboro was arrested on Thursday in connection to a shooting.

Police say the shooting happened on Thursday morning just before 7:00 a.m. in the area of Clinton Place West, in between Griffith Avenue and Ford Avenue.

When officers got to the scene, they say they found a man that had been shot once. He was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Police said they found the suspect, Charles Jean, driving on Daniels Lane and took him into custody.

He was charged with 1st Degree Assault and 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day across the Tri-State; temperatures climbed back into the upper 40s low 50s area-wide earlier this afternoon. Evansville‘s afternoon high temperature of 49° was our warmest in nearly a week. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will be relatively stable as a breezy southerly wind continues to bolster the mercury throughout the region; temperatures around 42° at dinner time will only fall as low as 41° by midnight. An inbound cold front moving in overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning will begin to generate chances of rainfall as early as the predawn hours on Wednesday.
