A man arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 16-year-old Hopkins County boy made his first appearance in court on Thursday.
19-year-old Michael A. Roche appeared in court for the first time on Thursday morning following the Tuesday shooting death of 16-year-old Dakota Carter of Dawson Springs. We're still working to learn more about what happened during Roche's first court appearance.
The Kentucky State Police says Roche was arrested at his Dawson Springs home on Wednesday. They say he was charged with complicity to murder in connection to Carter's death.
The 16-year-old shooting victim's mother spoke with 44News after the incident took place. She says the family is in agony after what happened.
Roche is currently being held in the Caldwell County Jail on five different charges. He's being held on a $105,000 bond.
According to KSP, it's undetermined at this time as to whether or not Roche was the one who pulled the trigger.
KSP says the investigation remains ongoing and urges anyone with more information to contact them immediately.
