Man Dies After Weekend Water Rescue at Angel Mounds Boat Ramp

According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner, a 55-year-old man who was pulled from the Ohio River near Angel Mounds Boat Ramp on Saturday has died.

Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear says that 55-year-old Timothy Lee died on Sunday after being pulled from the Ohio River near Angel Mounds Boat Ramp on Saturday.

Lee died at St. Vincent Hospital, where he was taken after being pulled from the water. According to Lockyear, Lee's cause of death was drowning.

The coroner said final findings will be made after toxicology testing becomes available, which typically takes three weeks.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources are currently investigating the incident.
