A Utica, Kentucky man received his sentencing on Thursday in the 2018 murder of a woman from Owensboro.
29-year-old Matthew Adams of Utica was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Thursday in connection to the murder of Erica Owen.
Adams was also sentenced to 20 years for the charge of Burglary, 10 years for Theft, and 10 years for Tampering With Evidence.
Owen was found dead at a home on Placid Place back on July 3 of 2018. She worked as a nurse at Owensboro Health.
When Adams was found a short time later on Barron Drive, officers said he was attempting to kill himself.
He pleaded guilty to the charges back in October.
