New details have surfaced on a shooting that took place at a McDonald's drive-thru on Monday night in Evansville.
The Evansville Police Department says that several witnesses at the scene of the shooting told them the shooting victim was in the drive-thru when he started arguing with someone in a different vehicle.
After an exchange of words between the occupants of the two vehicles, police say the suspect vehicle drove away and the man in the drive-thru continued to wait for his food. A short time later, that man was shot while still in his car.
According to EPD, the victim had injuries to his thigh and lower abdominal area. They say he was unable to speak with detectives at the time of the shooting but is expected to survive his injuries.
At least eight 911 calls were made as a result of the shooting incident.
Investigator says no one inside the restaurant was hurt, but they did find that a bullet had entered the building just above the drive-thru window.
No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting at this time.
Anyone with information on the incident should call EPD's Detective Office at 812-436-7979.
