Matchups Drawn For IHSAA Football Playoffs

Action kicks off with sectionals on October 22nd.

On Sunday, southwestern Indiana high school football teams learned the path ahead for a state title.

Indiana High School Athletic Association drew the matchups for the start of the six-class state football playoffs.

Sectionals for Class 1-A through 4-A and portions of 5-A will being on October 22nd.  6-A and the remainder of 5-A will join the others in sectional semifinals on October. 29th.

Sectional finals will take palce on November 5, regionals on November 12, Semi-State on November 19th, and the State Finals will take place in all six classes on November 26 and 27 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis

G1:  Bloomington South at Castle

G2:  Evansville North at Bloomington North

It was another cool, though overall pleasant day across the Tri-State - after only seeing temperatures dive as low as 22° early this morning, peak temperatures ended up climbing a few degrees higher than Thursday's; that being said, Evansville’s high temperature of 27° Was still 15° below average for this time of the year. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will gradually fall for 23° around dinner time back down to 19° by10 PM. A weak northerly wind flow most of the night paired with our crystal clear skies will cause temperatures to of fall back down into the mid to low teens once again - Evansville's anticipated low temperature of 12° will mark or coolest since the morning of January 7th.
