A day at Mesker Park Zoo will cost you a little more once the zoo's new Penguins of Patagonia Exhibit opens later in 2021.
The Board of Park Commissioners approved the price increase on Wednesday after officials with Mesker Park Zoo previously requested the admission hike.
The price of general admission will now be increased by $1.50 for both adults and children, though children under the age of two-years-old will still be able to get into the zoo for free.
Zoo officials estimate the increase will create an extra $300,000 in revenue each year, helping to offset the cost of running the new exhibit.
Another item also approved by the Board of Park Commissioners on Wednesday: Vanderburgh County residents will now receive a $2 discount on general admission - up from the previous amount of $1.
