A'marii Brandenstein was only three-months-old when mom Shiloh, dropped her off to god-father Javon Groom's house on March 16th.

Shiloh just needed help for a few hours from who she thought was a family friend while she attended a funeral.

By the time she picked A'marii up -- the baby was covered in bruises.

While Grooms said the injuries were caused from A'marii head butting his glasses -- Shiloh says she did not believe him and called the police.

EPD later arrested Grooms on a charge of neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury, after his story did not match the child's abrasions.

Grooms bonded out on $1K just one day later.

And with him having a scheduled court hearing on Monday, May 3rd, Shiloh and nearly one dozen family members and friends thought it was the perfect time to protest outside the county courts -- demanding longer than 24-hours in jail for the man she says hurt her child.

"No baby deserves this, no child deserves this," Shiloh Bradenstein said. "I mean children should be happy, smiling -- they shouldn't worry about ever dealing with something like that from someone they trust -- that they thought loved them -- that's not OK."

But because Groom's lawyer was unable to be present at the afternoon hearing - it was rescheduled for Friday.

Amarii's mom said she and her supporters plan to be back on Friday and will stand as long as it takes.

It's a cool, but beautiful start to our Thursday! Conditions will hold together for an absolutely gorgeous afternoon. Highs will still be below normal, but we'll take some high 60s under mostly sunny skies. The 70s could make a come back as soon as tomorrow!
