Moped Driver Hospitalized After Crash on Lloyd Expressway in Evansville

EPD responded to a crash with injuries early Thursday morning on the eastbound lanes of the Lloyd Expressway

One person was hospitalized after a crash that happened on the Lloyd Expressway in Evansville early Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the area of the Lloyd Expressway and Highway 41 around 4:15 am on Thursday after someone reported a crash with injuries involving a moped.

According to officials, the moped was heading eastbound on the Lloyd Expressway when it was hit by a car.

The driver of the moped was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The eastbound lanes of the Lloyd were closed for about an hour as crews worked to clean up the wreckage, but have since reopened.

Some areas could even see temperatures well into the 70s. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning. We won't see any rain from this front, but it will cool temperatures into the low 40s by Saturday morning.
