Motorcyclist Killed in Tuesday Crash Identified as 22-Year-Old Newburgh Man

The Vanderburgh County Coroner has identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash at Maxx Road and Lynch Road on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash at Lynch Road and Maxx Road in Evansville on Tuesday evening has been identified.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office identified the man who was killed as 22-year-old Matthew Elliot Kroeger of Newburgh, Indiana.

The Evansville Police Department says that the crash happened around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday as Kroeger was heading east on Lynch Road towards Oak Hill Road on his motorcycle.

According to EPD, the other car that was involved in the crash was headed west on Lynch Road when its driver tried to turn left on Maxx Road. That's when the car and Kroeger's motorcycle collided, according to police.

Police said that first responders arrived at the scene of the crash and attempted life-saving measures, but that Kroeger was beyond help. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was another cool, though overall pleasant day across the Tri-State - after only seeing temperatures dive as low as 22° early this morning, peak temperatures ended up climbing a few degrees higher than Thursday's; that being said, Evansville’s high temperature of 27° Was still 15° below average for this time of the year. As for the evening ahead, temperatures will gradually fall for 23° around dinner time back down to 19° by10 PM. A weak northerly wind flow most of the night paired with our crystal clear skies will cause temperatures to of fall back down into the mid to low teens once again - Evansville's anticipated low temperature of 12° will mark or coolest since the morning of January 7th.
