Despite Indiana's Back on Track plan delaying a 5th and final phase of reopening this month, seniors in Mt. Vernon will still enjoy something similar to a traditional graduation Saturday.

The graduation ceremony now set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, falls within state health guidelines for large gatherings, as organizers plan to host two separate groups to stay under a 250 person threshold.

Seniors will gather starting at 8:00 a.m. for practice before family and friends arrive. Students are also being asked to wear their cap and gowns to the event and to expect to wear a face mask, as social distancing will be difficult to maintain.

Parents and family members will then be asked to exit the building to meet their students at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Tickets to the previously scheduled ceremony are no longer valid.
