Multiple people were hit by a vehicle on the sidewalk of Evansville's Meijer grocery store on Wednesday morning around 9:30 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they were able to find three people, including a toddler that was struck by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, who was still on scene, claimed she lost control and drove up on the sidewalk, striking the pedestrians.

All three individuals who were hit by the vehicle were transported by an ambulance to a local hospital, where they're expected to survive their injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital where a sample of her blood could be taken to be sent off to the Indiana State Police lab for testing

Pending the results from the testing, the driver was released from police headquarters. She could face future charges depending on the outcome of the testing.
