New COVID-19 Death Confirmed in Vanderburgh County

A new COVID-19 death was reported in Vanderburgh County on Tuesday, inching the county closer towards the 400 death mark.

The Indiana State Department of Health said Tuesday that 392 total COVID-19 deaths had occurred in Vanderburgh County since the pandemic began.

That's after one new COVID-19 death was reported in Vanderburgh County on Tuesday, which was included in the 11 new COVID-19 deaths reported throughout the Hoosier State.

Statewide, 12,679 total COVID-19 deaths have now been confirmed to date, since the state health department recorded the first Hoosier death on March 16, 2020.

ISDH also said Tuesday that 669 new positive cases of the virus had been identified statewide.

Now, 692,240 total positive COVID-19 cases have been identified throughout Indiana to date.

While 1 new COVID-19 death was reported in Vanderburgh County Tuesday, no other local deaths were reported. New positive cases of the virus, however, were reported in several local counties.

Tuesday's local COVID-19 increases:

  • Vanderburgh County: 10 new cases, 1 new death
  • Warrick County: 2 new cases
  • Knox County: 6 new cases

As of Tuesday, Indiana's statewide mask mandate expired, becoming a mask advisory, though local health officials continue to urge the public to wear masks and social distance.
