On Tuesday, the Green River District Health Department (GRDHD) said new COVID-19 deaths had occurred in Henderson County and Ohio County, Kentucky.
One new COVID-19 death was reported in each county. That brought the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Henderson County to 32, and the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Ohio County to 10.
There were also 55 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported throughout the GRDHD district on Tuesday:
- Daviess County: 19 new positive cases
- Hancock County: 3 new positive cases
- Henderson County: 10 new positive cases
- McLean County: 3 new positive cases
- Ohio County: 13 new positive cases
- Union County: 1 new positive case
- Webster County: 6 new positive cases
Tuesday's report of 55 new positive cases throughout the area brought the total number of identified positive COVID-19 cases in the district to 4,985.
GRDHD COVID-19 Case Summary as of Oct. 27:
On Monday, Kentucky's governor made new recommendations for Kentucky counties currently in the 'Red Zone' on the state's COVID-19 incidence map.
Local Kentucky counties currently in the Red Zone include Henderson, Webster, McLean, Hopkins, and Hancock counties.
The governor's recommendations ask all individuals in those counties to take certain measures to slow the spread of the virus, such as working from home when possible, ordering take-out, and not attending or hosting gatherings of any size.
The state of Kentucky is currently reporting 97,866 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1,410 statewide deaths.
