New COVID-19 Deaths Reported in Pike and Warrick Counties

Hoosier health officials said Friday that 15 new COVID-19 deaths had been identified throughout the state, one of which was in Pike County.

The Indiana State Department of Health is reporting 15 new COVID-19 deaths throughout the Hoosier State Friday.

According to ISDH, one of the new COVID-19 deaths announced on Friday occurred in Pike County, which brought the total number of deaths there since the beginning of the pandemic to 34.

In Warrick County, 

Statewide, 12,510 total Hoosiers are now confirmed to have died from COVID-19 to date, according to ISDH.

Additionally, ISDH reported 878 new positive cases of the virus throughout the state on Friday.

That brought the total number of positive COVID-19 cases identified throughout the state to date to 676,247.

Though no new COVID-19 deaths were reported locally on Friday beside the one in Pike County, ISDH did say that a number of new positive cases were identified in our area.

Here are Friday's local COVID-19 increases:

  • Vanderburgh County: 24 new cases
  • Warrick County: 6 new cases, 1 new death
  • Pike County: 1 new death
  • Gibson County: 6 new cases
  • Dubois County: 4 new cases
  • Spencer County: 2 new cases
  • Perry County: 2 new cases
  • Posey County: 1 new case
  • Daviess County: 0 new cases

The bitterly cold start to our Wednesday will inevitably lead to a cooler-than-average afternoon across the Tri-State. We're currently expecting an afternoon high of 26° in Evansville on Wednesday afternoon (that’s 17° below average for this time of the year). Temperatures will once again dive back down towards the teens for many of us overnight and into early Thursday. As for right now Thursday morning looks as though will be slightly warmer, but only just - believes model data indicates that we will see a morning low temperature of 14° under partly cloudy skies in Evansville tomorrow morning.
