On Friday, Webster County Judge-Executive Steve Henry announced the appointment of Greg Sauls as the new Jailer of the Webster County Detention Center.
Sauls' appointment as Jailer follows the resignation of current Webster County Jailer Morgan McKinley, whose last day in office will be July 14. Sauls will then be sworn in at a special-called Fiscal Court meeting on July 15.
Currently, Sauls serves as the Webster County Detention Center's chief deputy.
Judge-Executive Henry said that appointing Sauls to the position was an obvious choice - one that he didn't have to consider for very long.
"Greg has been Chief Deputy under the past three jailers. No one knows the interworking of that facility better than he does," said Judge-Executive Henry. "On behalf of Magistrates Townsend, Brown, Felker, and myself, we look forward to working with him."
Sauls has been employed at the Webster County Jail since 1998 and is a lifelong resident of Webster County, graduating from Webster County High School in 1978.
