President Biden announced all nursing home employees will have to be vaccinated in the coming months.

The announcement came during a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Nursing homes across the country have been devastated by Covid-19. Although nursing home residents make up only 1 percent of the country, they account for over 20 percent of the Covid-related deaths.

Currently, only about 60 percent of staff in nursing homes and long-term care are partially or fully vaccinated.

Late last month, the Department of Veterans Affairs became the first federal agency to require employees to get vaccinated against Covid.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another abnormally mild day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing low pressure system and accompanying cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
