A pair of Daviess County, Kentucky shelters will remain open for the remainder of the week, as dangerously cold temperatures persist.
The Daniel Patino Shelter and St. Benedict's Homeless Shelter in Owensboro currently have space available for those needing a warm place to stay overnight.
Meals will also be served at the Daniel Pitino shelter each day, with breakfast being served at 7:00 a.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m.
Should either shelter reach capacity, those seeking a safe place to stay will be welcome at Owensboro Christian Church from 6:30 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning.
Families, women, and/or children should contact the Daniel Pitino Shelter at 270-688-9000 while men are asked to contact St. Benedict’s at 270-541-1003.
In accordance with CDC guidelines social distancing, and masks are required.
