Ohio County Reports 9th Total COVID-19 Death

One new COVID-19 death was reported in Kentucky's Ohio County on Tuesday, Aug 11.

Ohio County, Kentucky's COVID-19 death toll reached 9 in total on Tuesday, Aug 11, with the Green River District Health Department's (GRDHD) report of one new coronavirus death in the county. That brought the total number of COVID-19 deaths within the seven-county GRDHD district to 23.

GRDHD also reported 18 new positive cases of coronavirus throughout several of the Kentucky counties within its seven-county district on Tuesday:

  • Daviess County: 12 new positive cases
  • Henderson County: 4 new positive cases
  • Ohio County: 1 new positive case
  • Union County: 1 new positive case

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the entire GRDHD district is now 1,735.

Currently, 10 individuals in the district are hospitalized with COVID-19, with 157 total coronavirus patients requiring hospitalization to date (9% hospitalization rate.)

As of Tuesday, the district-wide total of recovered cases is now 1,506 (87%).

Our snowy, slick start to the day gave way to a gloomy, gray and chilly afternoon throughout the Tri-State. After only reaching temperatures in the mid 30s early in the day, we will see temperatures gradually tumble back down into the upper 20s by 10 o’clock. Despite the gradual clearing conditions overnight (which would normally lead too a much colder morning), the mercury is expected to remain relatively stable into early Tuesday morning. The return of a southerly wind flow overnight will help keep the temperatures milder as we head towards daybreak.
