Ohio County Reports New COVID-19 Death

A new COVID-19 death was reported in Ohio County, Kentucky, on Wednesday, July 29.

The Green River District Health Department (GRDHD) reported one new COVID-19 death in Ohio County on Wednesday, July 29. That brought the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Ohio County to six.

GRDHD also reported 17 new positive cases of COVID-19 throughout its seven-county district on Wednesday:

  • Daviess County - 11 new positive cases
  • Henderson County - 4 new positive cases
  • Ohio County - 1 new positive case
  • Webster County - 1 new positive case

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the seven-county GRDHD district is now 1,500.

Currently, 30 COVID-19 patients within the district are hospitalized. Of the 1,500 total confirmed cases in the district, 138 (9%) total have required hospitalization to date.

The district-wide total of recovered patients is now 1,229, showing an 82% recovery rate.

Our snowy, slick start to the day gave way to a gloomy, gray and chilly afternoon throughout the Tri-State. After only reaching temperatures in the mid 30s early in the day, we will see temperatures gradually tumble back down into the upper 20s by 10 o’clock. Despite the gradual clearing conditions overnight (which would normally lead too a much colder morning), the mercury is expected to remain relatively stable into early Tuesday morning. The return of a southerly wind flow overnight will help keep the temperatures milder as we head towards daybreak.
