The Vanderburgh County Coroner says one person was killed in a crash on Highway 57 in Evansville on the morning of Wednesday, July 22.
Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear Identified the victim of the fatal crash as Candice Dodson of Evansville, Indiana.
The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday near the entrance of the Evansville Regional Airport.
Dodson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Vanderburgh County Coroner.
According to the Evansville Police Department, a semi-truck was traveling on Highway 57 when an SUV attempted to make a u-turn and turned directly into the path of the semi.
Another person involved in the accident, a passenger of the SUV, was transported to the hospital. The passenger's current condition is unknown.
The semi-truck driver was uninjured in the accident but was also taken to the hospital for medical clearance.
Dodson’s autopsy is scheduled for July 23 at 7:00 p.m.
