One local law enforcement leader is weighing in on the ongoing distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding says he was originally skeptical of the vaccine, but that he made the decision to get the shot after seeing the negative impact the virus has had on the community.

On Friday, Sheriff Wedding received his second dose of the vaccine, giving thanks to Deaconess Downtown Clinic and its staff.
"I want to compliment the staff at the Deaconess Downtown Clinic," said Sheriff Wedding. "Both times I've been in there they've been very courteous, very swift - I couldn't be more pleased with the service that Deaconess Downtown Clinic has provided."
Sheriff Wedding is now encouraging those eligible to get vaccinated. As of Monday throughout Indiana, that includes all Hoosiers age 65 and above.
