Evansville Man Killed In Early Friday Morning Shooting

37-year-old Jonathan Stitts was found shot multiple times in a building on Parrett Street after 8AM Friday Morning.

UPDATE:  Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office has identified the male victim from Friday's shooting at 37-Year-Old Jonathan Stitts of Evansville.  An autopsy is pending.

EARLIER:

The Evansville Police Department says one person was shot in a building in the area of Parrett Street on Friday morning.

Officers were called to the 1300 Block of Parrett Street for the reported shooting shortly after 8:00 a.m. We're told a man was shot in a building in the area multiple times.

EPD now says the man who was shot has died from his injuries. We're told his identity will be released at a later time.

Police say the suspects weren't there when officers arrived at the scene, but two suspects have now been taken into custody in connection to the shooting.

No further information has been released at this time, but EPD is continuing to investigate the shooting.

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some higher amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
