UPDATE: One Shot in Evansville on Madison Avenue

Evansville Police are investigating a shooting that left one victim injured. Several homes and vehicles were also hit by bullets.

Evansville Police are investigating a shooting that left one victim injured. Several homes and vehicles were also hit by bullets.

According to EPD, the initial call came in around 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Madison Avenue.

The 911 caller told dispatch, they heard a group of people arguing and then shots were fired. Another witness at the scene told investigators that while the group dispersed more shots were fired.

The victim is a woman who was hit in the leg while standing in front of her home. According to the EPD press release, she is expected to be okay after officers applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding until paramedics could arrive.

44News crews report more than 15 squad cars responded to the incident. The team also saw caution tape put up and evidence markers placed throughout the area while investigators worked the crime scene. The area was cleared by police just after 5 p.m.

Evansville Police say no suspects have been found at this time. They are asking anyone with information to come forward.

According to Evansville Central Dispatch, officers are currently responding to a shooting incident in the area of the 100 block of Madison Avenue in Evansville, Indiana.

Dispatch confirms that at least one person was shot.
