The City of Owensboro is set to host an overnight stop for the 2021 Hemmings Motor News Great Race tonight.

The Car Rally will bring 120 of the world's finest antique automobiles to the city, with the first car rolling in at around 4:45 PM on Wednesday, June 23.

The racing event covers over 2,300 miles in nine days.

Cars began their journey at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, driving a course that finishes on June 27 in Greenville, South Carolina.

A free concert will take place from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame Stage, along with food vendors and bars selling drinks.

The combination of sunshine and southerly winds will make for another abnormally mild day throughout the Ohio Valley - expect an afternoon high temperature near 69° this afternoon. Friday evening looks as though it will be just as pleasant; after seeing the upper 60s earlier in the day, we'll dip to 60° by 5 PM before falling towards 54° around 7 o’clock. We are however, watching a passing low pressure system and accompanying cold front that is expected to pass through the Tri-State late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
