Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear says that the Bluegrass State had passed another grim milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic.
During his Team Kentucky update on Monday, Gov. Beshear said that over 10,000 Kentuckians had now died from COVID-19 to date.
"Today is gonna be primarily focused on where we are in COVID, and it starts with us as a state and as a people passing another grim milestone," the governor began. "Today, we surpassed more than 10,000 Kentuckians who have lost their lives due to COVID - now at 10,019 Kentuckians lost."
According to Gov. Beshear, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 14, to honor the 10,000+ Kentuckian lives now lost to the virus.
Additionally, the governor said that a monument will be created to honor all Kentuckians lost to COVID-19.
