A few showers in the overnight on Sunday, left some clouds around through the noon time, but by this afternoon, the sun was trying to break out and adding some energy to the potential storms Sunday night and into Monday morning. Highs were able to jump up into the 80's in the Tri-State and if felt more like summer than it did Autumn.

A cold front is poised to move through the Tri-State in the overnight hours and there is a threat of strong to severe thunderstorms to occur. The current time line has the thunderstorms moving into southeastern Illinois around 10pm and into the Evansville area by midnight. The threats are damaging winds, hail and even an isolated tornado is possible. Once the storms move through, Monday will see dropping temperatures all day long, our high temperature will be at midnight and fall all night and into the early morning hours on Monday. Strong west-northwest winds will gust to around 25 mph on Monday, making it feel even colder.

Again some strong thunderstorms are possible in the overnight hours. Be sure to have a way to receive alerts, a way that will wake you up and know where to go should severe weather threaten you. Do not rely on outdoor warning sirens, as they are not designed to wake you up inside a home. Go to a basement or interior room and protect yourself from flying debris.

Winds will gust as high 35 MPH through the afternoon. The stronger southerly winds will assist in milder afternoon highs. Temperatures will max in the upper-50s and low-60s with partly cloudy skies. Rain will be arriving by 3AM Thanksgiving morning.
