Another local business is closing up shop after struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Mile High Beer Co. in Owensboro, Kentucky, announced that its last day of business would be on Sunday, Nov. 28, due to setbacks caused by the pandemic.
The closure comes as the brewery had just passed one year in business.
"We signed the lease on the space in late February 2020, mere weeks before the world shut down. We had our Grand Opening on November 13th, 2020, only to be met with another Covid-induced shutdown some 10 days later," the announcement from Mile Wide Beer Co. said. "When things started to open in early Summer, we had a glimmer of hope that the corner had been turned. But unfortunately, we were just never able to financially recover from the setbacks that Covid dealt us in those first 6+ months."
The owners of the brewery thanked their staff members and the City of Owensboro for all of the hard work and support.
