Owensboro's trip to state will mark the first time since 2014 that the Red Devils will play for the crown. As it turns out, this will be the first time Owensboro goes to State with Jay Fallin as Head Coach. While the team is excited for this opportunity their coach is making sure everyone is focused and ready for the task at hand.
"It's really exciting especially with this group of guys. We've worked hard and it's great to see it pay off," said Junior Quarterback Gavin Wimsatt.
"You want to take time and try to enjoy the experience but it's also very important to remain focused on the fact that we didn't come this far just to be happy about the fact that we came this far. We want to compete and give our best effort to try to win on Saturday. So, there's a fine line between appreciating and enjoying the week and celebrating the accomplishment of being here and then also trying to maintain a sense of normalcy in practice and preparation," said Owensboro Head Coach Jay Fallin.
