Posted: Nov 22, 2021 12:23 PM

Beth Steele has been named chief operating officer of Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Steele is currently the vice-president of operations and the chief nursing officer for Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She is scheduled to begin her new role at Owensboro Health on January 10th, 2022.

Steele has held executive positions at OhioHealth since 2014 and has extensive experience with daily hospital operations, including nursing, emergency departments, surgical services, oncology, respiratory and rehabilitation. She has also been the hospital's lead executive throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving financial stability, avoiding layoffs despite projections of potential losess and the suspension of elective surgeries.

“I am excited to be part of a growing health system that has so much potential to impact healthcare in western Kentucky and southern Indiana,” Steele said. “The facilities are amazing, but it all starts with our team members who deliver high-quality care to our patients every day. I look forward to meeting the team and learning how I can help them be successful.”

Wow!!!! It's cold!!!! After a trace of snow in Evansville and some highe amounts to the south, we're waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper teens across the Tri-State. Thankfully, road crews did a fantastic job treating the roads to keep conditions from getting slick. However, the northerly winds gusting as high as 15 to 20 mph has dropped wind chill values into the single digits and even below zero in our western communities. There won't be much of an improvement in temperatures this afternoon. With the strong northerly wind flow and dry skies our highs will only reach the mid to upper 20s. Winds will stay quite breezy keeping the wind chill factor in place through the day.
