An Owensboro High School student has been accepted into Harvard University.
Kaysia Harrington was accepted into the prestigious University with a perfect 4.0 GPA and has scored a 5, which is the highest possible score, on all of the AP Exams she has taken.
Harrington was elected the Student Body President by her peers and is a leader not only in the school, but in the community as well.
She plans on studying history and literature and hopes to start an organization that fights education inequity after she graduates.
Harrington is the first OHS student to be accepted to Harvard since Jason Sauer in 1998.
She believes her accomplishment is a reflection of what happens when schools invest in communities that don’t normally get invested in.
