An Owensboro man is facing a long list of charges including Kidnapping of an Adult, Sodomy, and Unlawful Imprisonment after being identified as the suspect of an incident that was reported in April, according to the Daviess County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office says it received a report from a female on April 15 who said she had been walking alone on W. 7th Street in Owensboro around 10:00 p.m. when a white male with red hair and a red beard driving a red truck pulled up next to her and offered her a ride home.
The victim told DCSO that once she got inside the man's truck, he pointed a gun at her and took her to Panther Creek Park where he made her engage in sex acts.
On May 5, the Owensboro Police Department responded to a similar incident in the area of Ben Hawes Park. DCSO says that following that, OPD Detectives arrested 46-year-old Shawn Moore of Owensboro on May 6 for Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree and Attempted Sodomy 1st Degree.
According to DCSO, Moore was also identified as the suspect from the incident in April.
On May 11, Detectives with DCSO charged Moore with Kidnapping of an Adult and Sodomy 1st Degree.
Moore remains in the Daviess County Detention Center on a $50,000 full-cash bond.
