Owensboro Man Arrested After Attempted Robbery at Local Gas Station

Police say an Owensboro man was arrested on Sunday after walking into the Even Steven convenience store/gas station on Old Hartford Road and demanding money.

24-year-old D’Andre S. Mitchell of Owensboro, Kentucky, was arrested on Sunday after police say he walked into a local business demanding money.

According to the Owensboro Police Department, officers responded to the Even Steven at 3400 Old Hartford Road on Sunday morning around 8:30 a.m. for a Business Robbery.

Police say a man, who was later identified as Mitchell, had entered the business demanding money and indicating he was armed with a gun.

Before officers arrived, OPD says Mitchell fled on foot.

No money was stolen, and no one was injured in the robbery.

A short time later, police say Mitchell was located in the area with the assistance of a K-9.

Mitchell was booked into the Daviess County Jail where he's being held on a $50,000 full cash bond. He's being charged with 1 count of Robbery 1st Degree.
