An Owensboro man was sentenced to 35 years in prison on Tuesday for a 2019 murder.

52-year-old Brian Bailey of Owensboro, Kentucky, was sentenced in the Daviess County Circuit Court on Tuesday after previously pleading guilty to the murder of Eugene Evans.

Evans was murdered at a home in Daviess County in September of 2019.

Police said Evans was tied up and assaulted at a home on West Victory Court in Owensboro and later died from his injuries.

Since Bailey pleaded guilty to the violent offence, Kentucky law says he must serve at least 85% of his 35-year sentencing before becoming eligible to meet the parole board.

Today's high temperature of 87° was our warmest in a week and a half - we last climbed that high on the afternoon of September 18th when we tipped the scales at 88°. The remainder of the evening will remain quite mild under clear skies; expect temperatures to first fall to 83° by dinnertime before dropping to 73° by 10PM. The clear skies and weak southerly wind flow will help keep temperatures relatively stable during the overnight and predawn hours - we'll wake up to a morning low of just 62° early Wednesday morning.
