The Daviess County Sheriff's Office says alcohol is believed to have been a factor in a Thursday night crash where an Owensboro, Kentucky woman was ejected from her vehicle.
According to the sheriff's office, the crash happened Thursday night just before 10:00 p.m. in the 5000 block of Highway 81.
DCSO says a 50-year-old Owensboro woman was traveling south on Highway 81 when her vehicle left the roadway, causing it to strike a driveway culvert and become airborne.
After landing, the vehicle overturned several times before coming to a stop, ejecting the woman from the vehicle in the process.
After being transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital by AMR, the woman was later flown to the University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff's office says she wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and that alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
