On Friday, the Evansville P-47 Foundation said that the P-47 Thunderbolt wouldn't be returning home to Evansville on Friday.

Originally, the P-47 was scheduled to land in Evansville on Thursday.

Then, due to unsafe weather conditions, the Evansville P-47 Foundation said on Friday that the World War II fighter plane wouldn't be returning until Friday.

On Friday, the foundation once again announced that the plane's landing had been delayed, once again citing unsuitable weather conditions.

The P-47 Thunderbolt is now scheduled to return to Evansville around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, weather permitting.

Once it returns to Evansville, the 'Tarheel Hal' will be placed at the Evansville Wartime Museum, less than a mile away from where it was originally built 75 years ago.

Update: As of 2:14 p.m., the weather is not suitable for the P-47 pilot to leave Houston. We are preparing for a flight tomorrow and will provide further updates as soon as possible.
