The Vanderburgh County Coroner has identified an Evansville mother and her two children as the victims of a fatal crash that happened on Monday.

The three family members were killed on impact after their van was rear-ended by a pick-up truck near the intersection of Highway 41 and Covert Avenue.

The mother who died in Monday's crash was identified as 36-year-old Crystal Lawrence of Evansville, Indiana. Her 15-year-old daughter Abigail and her 6-year-old son Chase were also killed in the crash.

Evansville Police have charged the driver of the pick-up truck, Damon Busby, with three counts of reckless homicide.

Busby is currently in the hospital recovering from minor injuries and will be transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail when he is released.

A portion of Highway 41 was temporarily closed as a result of the crash on Monday, where police initially reported both vehicles involved as being "engulfed in flames."
